Mr Michael E Vaughn

Mike Vaughn is an attorney licensed to practice law in the United States in California and North Carolina. He received a BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1968 and a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from the UNC-School of Law in 1971.

He was admitted to practice in the State of North Carolina in 1971 and served at the North Carolina Court of Appeals as a Law Clerk to the Honourable Francis Parker, Appellate Court Judge. He was admitted to all of the Federal Courts in North Carolina.

In 1978 he was admitted to practice in the State of California and entered private practice with the Law Firm of Bollington & Pennel in Beverly Hills, California. He has been admitted to practice in all of the Federal Courts of the State of California.

He has continued in private practice and since 1986, he has specialized in Maritime Law, dealing with the sale of maritime vessels worldwide. He serves as legal counsel and brokers various shipping projects. His clients are as diverse as their geographic base, ranging from Canada to Ecuador and Federated States of Micronesia to Greece. Mr. Vaughn has actively cultivated a network of ship owners, operators, brokers and legal consultants around the world to facilitate the worldwide business of shipping.

Mr. Vaughn has authored various books, e.g. “Ship Acquisition & Sale” (1993) and “The Business of Yachting & Shipping” (2003), he has also had numerous articles published, the most recent being “Subchapter T & K Regulations for U.S. Passenger Vessels” in the U.S. Coast Guard Journal of Safety at Sea, January-March 2002.
